The Varispan Gripper is an add-on for Fontus™ and JANUS™ G3 liquid handlers that expands their capabilities. This tool allows for the automated movement of labware, including microplates, racks, and tip boxes, and can even handle plate lids.
By automating these tasks, the Varispan Gripper makes it easy to integrate peripherals like shakers, heaters, and magnetic separators, allowing you to build more complex and efficient protocols, enabling:

Overview
Small, powerful, and designed to expand your workflow, the Varispan Gripper:
- moves labware on the JANUS G3* or Fontus Liquid Handler deck
- attaches to the VersaTips™ on the Varispan Arm
- can be used on either 4-tip or 8-tip module
- is compatible with regular or shortened VersaTips
- sits on a holder on the deck (one deck location) or off the deck
- could be used for integrations
Ease-of-use and so simple, you can install the Varispan Gripper by yourself!**
- Enable the Varispan Gripper in WinPREP™ software
- Add the gripper to the deck (from the drop-down menu)
- Calibrate its position (with just a few clicks)
- Create labware move procedure (simple drag and drop)
- Start using your new Varispan Gripper!
*WinPREP version 6.0 or higher
**Remote support available for some customers who need it!
