Emulsifier-Safe™, based on a high flash-point solvent (LAB), is an economically priced LSC cocktail for aqueous and organic samples. Aqueous samples and many buffer solutions are accepted in a single liquid phase up to 10-15% maximum sample load.
For research use only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
With a high flash-point of approximately 150oC, Emulsifier-Safe is an economical ready-to-use Liquid Scintillation Counting (LSC) cocktail based on the low vapor pressure Linear Alkylbenzene (LAB) solvent with a chemical formula of C6H5 CnH2n+1, where n lies between 10 and 16. LAB based cocktails typically have good optical transparency, high light yield and are safer for routine handling.
Emulsifier-Safe is a single liquid phase cocktail and exhibits no diffusion through polyethylene vials.
The main sample types used with Emulsifier-Safe are aqueous samples and can also be used for trapping gases such as CO2 when used in conjunction with either Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) or Hyamine Hydroxide 10-X (Product Number 6003005).
