Absorbance
Absorbance is a well-established and widely used microplate assay format, ideal for applications such as ELISA, protein and nucleic acid quantification, and enzyme activity measurements.
The VICTOR Nivo™ multimode plate reader provides flexible absorbance detection, offering users the option of either a filter-based detection for maximum sensitivity or spectrometer system for full-spectrum absorbance. The spectrometer-based plate reader captures ultra-fast, full-spectrum measurements from 230-1000 nm at selectable resolutions (2.0 nm, 5.0 nm, 10 nm) in under one second per well, with up to eight wavelengths measured simultaneously. This enables accurate detection across a wide range of dyes and supports analysis of samples with unknown absorbance spectra.
Alpha
Alpha is a high-performance, laser-based detection technology used with AlphaScreen™ and AlphaLISA™ kits. It enables fast, no-wash assays for complex samples across a wide range of applications.
Luminescence
Luminescence measures light from chemical or biochemical reactions without external excitation. It offers high sensitivity, low background, and is ideal for reporter gene, cytotoxicity, and proliferation assays.
Fluorescence intensity
Fluorescence intensity measures light emitted from excited fluorophores. It's a widely used and highly sensitive detection mode, ideal for precise DNA/protein quantitation, reporter-gene expression, and protein binding assays.
Fluorescence polarization
Fluorescence polarization detects binding events by measuring light emitted from fluorophores excited with polarized light. It's ideal for high-throughput screening of receptor-ligand binding, protein interactions, and immunoassays.
Time-resolved fluorescence
Time-resolved fluorescence (TRF) uses lanthanide labels to emit light over time, reducing background noise. It offers high sensitivity and dynamic range - ideal for low-concentration or limited-sample immunoassays.
The VICTOR Nivo is certified for use with HTRF™ technology.
