Feedback

For 40 years, Revvity has supported newborn and prenatal screening programs around the world. Behind that work are people who understand that what they do every day reaches far beyond the lab - to families, to children, to futures.

To mark this milestone, we're sharing their perspectives on what the work means and the impact it can have on families.

We asked Suvituuli, Product Manager for newborn screening, about the moments that have shaped her work and what keeps her moving forward.

1. What's a moment that has stayed with you, when you really felt the impact of your work?

A few years ago, we hosted a newborn screening conference called Worldview, where a family impacted by MLD shared their story with us. They had two children, both with MLD, but only one of them, sadly, was able to receive treatment early enough to prevent disease progression. From their story, it was very evident what kind of difference early access to treatment makes, and how important a part newborn screening plays in that.

2. Can you share a specific time when Revvity went further than expected for a customer?

Quite recently, we had a nationwide implementation of our NeoBase2 MSMS kit, where several screening laboratories were harmonised to improve standardisation within the country. It was a big collaboration between many functions on our side and the customer side.

I think it was a great example of how we work together with customers to provide a solution that fits their exact needs.

3. Why do you work for Revvity?

I work for Revvity because I have the opportunity to contribute to newborn screening. Knowing that my efforts help give babies around the world a healthier start to life is really meaningful. And on top of that, I get to work with a great group of people who are really passionate about what they do and supportive of each other.

4. What do you think about for the next 40 years?

What excites me most is the idea that every child could have access to newborn screening, no matter where they are born. I hope that over the next 40 years, newborn screening continues to gain recognition as a vital public health program and expands to regions where screening programs are still limited or not yet established.

As the science advances, we'll be able to identify more treatable conditions earlier and help more children get the care they need at the right time. Revvity will be part of that progress by helping bring new screening solutions into practice, making it possible to detect more disorders earlier and connect patients to treatment sooner.
